Well hello there!

Im not going to beat around the bush here, I need to lose weight. I need to lose about 9kg to get into the healthy weight range for my height. I know many people say that the BMI is not an accurate measure of being "healthy" but for me it most definitely is. I am not a weight-lifter, I am not a football (rugby) player and so for now, I am quite happy with using the BMI as an indication.

I have been slowly gaining weight since our wedding in September 2011 due to mostly eating absolutely everything I felt like and doing limited exercise outside the occassional walk to the shops or Oztag game.

Come January 7th my news years resolution was to shed the kilo's. My plan to do that was to strictly follow a 1200 calories in (food), 500 calories out (exercise) with one big workout session a week (>1000 calories) plus drinking at least 2 litres of water every day. A big part of my meals is planning and preparing my meals ahead of time to minimise the time I spend preparing our food. I also pack my gym bag ahead of time and make sure all my gym cloths are washed and ready for the week.

 
 

So far things have gone quite well, I have been doing lots of exercise particularly and found a new fun way of getting to work - on my bike! Stay tuned for more on that one. I am now down 2kg (4lbs) and feeling on top of things - which is always a win!

    Hey Sarah! This all sounds great! I'm CRAZY excited about this blog as you know I love all things health + fitness! Congratulations on your weight loss, and already, I'm feeling inspired (I need to drink more water!)-- excited to blog together here soon :)
