Bike Riding - the new black.

Oh my goodness, no wonder bike riders are all crazy skinny. I have been riding to work lately on my big get healthy routine and my heart rate monitor doesn't know whats happening, every workout is over 600 calories. They are slowly getting lower as I get more efficient at my riding, using my speed and getting on and off the bike less often but even if it gets down to 500 calories each way, that is still a good workout day considering I still need to get home after I work out.

My company is really good about riding to work actually, they provide funding for safety equipment and bicycle NSW membership and 6-monthly bike servicing. You just have to buy your own bike and clothing. One thing I invested in pretty promptly was the padded bicycle pants and what a lifesaver they are!

The only issue I am having at the moment is that I travel a lot for work and so I am not in the office very consistently, so working out the days that I am going to ride is quite the juggling act. Also, finding the bike rack on the first day didnt happen, so this was the days storage area at the office, lucky we have a relaxed office environment.
